Carlos Londono

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt | Instructor

Carlos Londono is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt who has developed his skills under the guidance of Marcio Laselva and John McDowell. Over the years, Carlos has become an important part of the WaveMan Combat Academy family, bringing experience, patience, and a genuine desire to help others improve every time he steps on the mats.

Carlos regularly assists with instruction at WaveMan and fills in to lead both our Fundamentals and Advanced Jiu Jitsu classes. His ability to connect with people makes him equally comfortable helping someone through their first few weeks of Jiu Jitsu or working through more advanced concepts with experienced practitioners.

Outside of the academy, Carlos serves his community as a law enforcement officer. His commitment to service extends well beyond his profession. Carlos is someone who genuinely cares about people and wants to make a positive difference in the lives of those around him. That same sense of responsibility, patience, and service carries directly onto the mats and into the way he works with our students.

Family is also incredibly important to Carlos. He and his wife are raising three incredible children, all of whom have trained Jiu Jitsu at some point, with members of the family continuing to train today. As a husband and father, Carlos has experienced firsthand how Jiu Jitsu can bring families together while helping young people develop confidence, discipline, resilience, and respect.

One of Carlos's greatest strengths as an instructor is simply who he is as a person. He is approachable, encouraging, patient, and genuinely invested in helping others succeed. He has a natural ability to make people feel comfortable while challenging them to continue learning and improving.

Whether he's working with a young student, an adult stepping onto the mats for the first time, or an experienced practitioner looking to sharpen their game, Carlos understands that everyone has a different starting point and a different reason for training.

More than anything, Carlos represents something we value deeply at WaveMan: using what you know and what you've learned to serve others, strengthen your community, and help the people around you become better.
